Household Refuse Collection
TMBC provides each household with two large wheeled bins; one black lidded, one green lidded, plus a green box (no lid) and two food waste bins (kitchen caddy & outside food waste bin, black with orange lid). TMBC can also provide garden waste service (chargeable) in a brown bin.
Green Box (Paper & Cardboard):
In the green box you place paper, newspapers, magazines, telephone directories. The paper contents are recycled into paper.
In the recycling bin (green lidded) you place glass bottles and jars, plastic bottles, food tins, plastic pots and tubs, plastic food trays and punnets, sweet/biscuit tins, cans, foil food trays.
The black lidded refuse bin is for non-recyclable waste including drink and food cartons, plastic bags, nappies and sanitary items, crisp packets/sweets wrappers.
Kitchen caddy for all cooked and raw leftover food – empty the kitchen caddy into the outside foods waste bin and lock the lid by moving the handle to the upright or forward position.
Garden Waste (Brown bin): A new fortnightly garden waste service, please contact TMBC (see below) or subscribe and pay online.
Note: Cardboard, paper, cans & glass can also be placed in the Recycling Centre containers adjacent to the Village Hall. This generates income for the village (over £831.28 raised in 2019/2020)
Both the green box and the green bin are emptied one week, the black bin the following week. Place your bins at the boundary of your property by 7 a.m. on the morning of collection & remove your containers once they have been emptied.
